Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories were widespread about 3 years ago today as Winter Storm Avery impacted the entire Commonwealth with the highest totals across Central Pennsylvania and Northeastern Pennsylvania, very cold air was in place during this storm which caused the snow to stick around longer and caused the totals to be as high as they were.
While much of us were caught unaware from this early Winter Storm, most of us were prepared for the worst case scenario (which happened). When the storm was almost in the Commonwealth, every local weather station forecasted low amounts, but back in 2018 I've forecasted higher amounts than what the weather stations were saying, due to cold air being with us longer.
Many will look back on November 15th 2018 as the rare November snowstorm that caught the entire Commonwealth off-guard, but I'll look back and remember the reliable information that I've given ahead of the storm, and made sure everyone was prepared. Thank you for taking the time to read this weather blog regarding Winter Storm Avery that struck the Northeast on Thursday November 15th, 2018.
